After graduating GGU’s Summer Trial and Evidence Program (1st STEP), Keenan Webb joined the National Trial Team in the fall of 2019. He has gone on to compete at the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice (CACJ) competition and the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) competition. Keenan’s work on the mock trial team led to an offer to intern at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, where he has worked ever since.
During the summer of 2020, Keenan developed and implemented a cross-county mock trial competition between interns at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, Contra Costa County Public Defender’s Office and the Sacramento County Public Defender’s Office. Keenan also held weekly trial skills classes to fellow interns who over the course of the summer went toe-to-toe with misdemeanor attorneys in several mock trial competitions. This passion for trial skills and litigation also led him to the role of president of GGU’s student-run organization, Society of Litigators. As president, Keenan works closely with other board members to teach trial skills to first-year law students. In the spring, the Society of Litigators hosts the “Cross & Close” competition designed to give those first-year law students a taste of effective courtroom litigation. Keenan plans on continuing his passion after the bar exam, by continuing to teach and assist the GGU Litigation Center in any way he can.
